This means that currently, Samantha is only a 3D concept art, and is not an official product of Samsung yet, but may soon be due to her instant rise in popularity. The story is that a marketing company owned by Samsung has worked with Lightfarm to procure the 3D virtual assistant, and was intended to be pitched to the company for a new look of its phone AIs. Rather, she was leaked through several people that have found her on the now-deleted post by a digital design company called Lightfarm, and can only be viewed via its web archive. Samsung's Sam arrived in the most unexpected time possible, particularly because she was not introduced in a product launch or a release for her in the Samsung smartphone interface. Who is Samsung's 'Sam' 3D Virtual Assistant? Sam is short for Samantha (not Samsung), which has the typical look of a Korean idol in the virtual world and has now captured the hearts of people worldwide. Samsung's Sam is a 3D Virtual Assistant who was not even supposed to be an official product of the Korean smartphone maker, but speculations now point to her soon release following a crazy trend online. It is a genuinely appealing character model, like a Persona character run through a Pixar design, so it’s not a complete surprise that she’s popular. Much of it is not safe for work the “rule34” subreddit is absolutely flooded with smutty Samantha content. Through the long weekend, the internet created a bunch of Samsung content. She’s also the new love interest of seemingly the entire internet, which became enamored with her overnight. She’s a bright-eyed, perky lady who likes jamming to tunes on her Samsung phone, browsing apps, and texting friends. Now Samantha Samsung lives on, thanks to a sudden burst of popularity over the long weekend. Instead, the images were stored on the Lightfarm site for some time until the company deleted the post. A design firm named Lightfarm created these images with a marketing company owned by Samsung, but the final product was never incorporated into any kind of campaign. Samsung is in the news for an unexpected reason - everyone wants to smooch a new mascot character that was created for the brand. What do you think about Sam(antha)? Web (includes the procedural eye generator video demo) This Blender capture shows a very early stage of what later would become a more stylized human body. Blender is powerful and BEYOND industry compatible“. I must admit I really thought Maya and Cinema 4D were involved in this process, but as the hours developed and this video reached more people in the community, Lucas and Nereu were kind enough to share a little bit of the insight in the process of making one of the most iconic virtual girls of the year: “The Samsung Girl”. The digital sculpting was done by Jhonatan Lechar He tells us: “ -In the animated sequence we used Houdini’s hair system and was later ported to Blender for the final animation“.

Clothing, hair, and rigging were also done in Blender by Nereu Rocha. Among the very experienced artists, the task to retopologize the model Sam was assigned to Lucas Falcão.

There was a big team between the companies pitching this character to Samsung. What do you think about Samsung’s virtual assistant? Let me know your thoughts in the comment section below. Well, the studio that created her removed the details for the process design from their webpage, but I found this link that briefly gives us the mood board of the process and Blender has been spotted and I wanted to share this video review so you can know all the details around this character! Oh no! Boo-hoo, do you mean she’s not officially endorsed by Samsung? Quick disclaimer: I am not -in any way related to any of the companies regarding the creation of this character- I’m just a 3d artist doing a quick review about a stylized girl that was never officially certified by Samsung itself. After May’s last weekend, social networks like Twitter, Instagram, Reddit, and others, posted this stylized character representing a virtual assistant for Samsung’s phones.
